About This Watch

Vintage. No box/papers. This Rolex Oysterdate Precision is a nice collector's item & with the serial numbers we can traced it's birth to 1977, the year when Apple Computer was incorporated. It is also the birth of Shakira & if she's of your kind of music, how about Orlando Bloom :-) Are you older than this watch?

It is completely original except a new acrylic crystal. The dial is aged and shows little blemishes while the edges near the case @ 9 shows some pitting in colour & the tritium are of course aged as well so they won't glow in dark. The case has been polished to factory specs & is good as new now with thick lugs which shows that this watch is probably only polished once or twice. There is mild corrosion on the inner thread of the case as seen in picture which is common for it's age but nothing major & a new gasket has been fitted. The movement is a gem and shines like new with no hint of rust or repair marks, a testament on the quality of the Oyster case & shows that this watch was never handled by poor mechanics.

We acquired this watch from the daughter of a single owner so it has been kept under one ownership for the last 3-4 decades. There is evidence of bracelet fitted on the watch for the early part of it age as there are marks underneath the lugs but the bracelet has broken over the years and discarded.

The steel buckle on this watch bears the Rolex crown & signed on the rear but we won't guarantee it to be an original.

Overall, this is a nice authentic vintage Rolex for your collection and for a little over US$1K, you have a high-end vintage Swiss watch on your wrist that's cooler than a new Rolex!
