About This Watch

Pre-owned classic. No box or papers but watch was serviced by our local Rolex Centre in 2009 with receipt. This gorgeous Rolex GMT Master dates back to 1981. It was specially commissioned for an Arabian country for their military and has an insignia printed on the dial. Now, we see a lot of regular Rolex with such logos but they are usually the Datejusts or President Day-dates but very rarely on sports model and this is perhaps the rarest version in solid 18KYG. We sold one in steel about a decade ago and have never seen another. This was probably given to high ranking officers and the condition of the watch is near 95% with an excellent case and tight bracelet with 12 links, just one short from full.

This is a transition model bearing Ref.16758. It has a sapphire crystal and fitted with a quick-set date movement yet has the old matt dial & old styled gold indexes. The tritium on the dial & hands are evenly faded to the same kaki colour while the edges of the dial shows some discoloration but it is free from blemishes.

This is a very rare watch for the connoisseur and is in our private collection & it is Not for Sale @ the moment.
