About This Watch

Pre-owned. No boxes but has orig. undated paper! This is a very desirable watch espceially with the orig. paper. The ref. 16800 Submariner date is only produced for a short period in the 1980s when Rolex was updating their watches. This model received the revolutionary sapphire crystal and quick-set date function but retains the old world matt black dial with flat tritium hour indexes that has aged to a captivating cork colour. Case & bezel insert has fine wear but nothing major as can be seen from the pictures and no sign of corrosion on the inner case as well.

It is very difficult to find one with the original dial & especially it's certificate with matching nos! This watch will only appreciate in value with time!

Glass Sapphire crystal with date cyclops.
Case Steel Oyster style case in three parts with signed screw-in back. Uni-directional rotating Steel bezel with Black 60min insert. Trip-lock signed screw-in crown.
Dial Matt black with applied tritium hour markers. White signature, markings & minute divisions. Date aperture @ 3 O'clock (Q-set).
Straps Fitted with orig. steel Oyster bracelet & signed deployant buckle, safety clasp & extension links. Full links, 90% tight!
Hands WG, mercedes styled with tritium
Functions Automatic, time, date & water resistant to 300m.
