An exquisite Patek Philippe open face pocket watch in solid rose gold case with white oven baked enamel dial. This watch has a rare and very beautiful set of Louis XV style hands in solid gold fitted to it while the dial has a mixture of black plus red numbers that add to the colourful flavour.

This watch is more than a Century old now and was made by the Swiss factory for the American market with triple signed case, dial and movement. It was sold through one of the most respected American jeweller, Boyd Park Inc in Salt Lake City, Utah and is signed on the movement plate as well as on the solid gold dust cover.

The watch is in very good condition except for a dent on the case band at 4 o'clock & two mild dents on the case band at 8 o'clock. All the hinges work well and covers snap tightly. It takes 14 rounds on the crown to fully wind it up and the watch ticks for one and a half days.

This watch was a gift from a lady and it has an engraving "T W Ross from Laura 5 April 1914" while the factory archive dates the production of the movement to 1911 and subsequently sold it to the dealer on 26 September 1912. These were turbulent years when the world was experiencing World War I and the conflict was especially devastating in Europe. Perhaps Mr Ross went to the War and this was a parting gift?

A beautiful engraving of some initials can be seen on the rear of the back cover of this watch. Overall a very attractive Patek Philippe pocket watch in very good condition with a good dial, case and movement. All properly signed and hallmarked with nice provenance and certified by the factory.
