The Omega Sapphette line (Saphette in French) was a small watch for women that was first launched in the American market in 1954. It was an immediate success and was taken to launch worldwide in the following year. The Sapphette line would enjoy a global success for more than twenty years.  

The name actually refers to the watches’ sparkling crystal that lent it such a unique look. Facetted like a diamond solitaire, the crystal was cut sapphire – scratch resistant, unbreakable and clear. This design was often imitated by other brands at the time.

In 1995 a 40th anniversary collection was created to honour this fashion line & this watch is one of those. They were made in limited numbers of which exact numbers are unknown but it cannot be too many. This watch was discovered by our agent in an old authorised dealer's safe & a pair was acquired by us. They have been lightly polished to restore it's original glory and fresh batteries fitted. It is sold with a one year warranty by us now.

Please spend a few minutes to appreciate the pictures of this fine beauty and it is priced very reasonably for you now. It is new & never worn. Although a reproduction in 1995, it is an exact icon of the 1950s beauty that will carry on to serve you well for the decades ahead.
