This is an earlier Cartier Pasha C from more than a decade ago with a 35mm diameter that was very popular due to it's par down specs, resulting in a more attractive price that attracted a younger clientele and won Cartier many fans back then.

The watch is lightly used and shows mild wear as seen from pics and the owner removed the bracelet in favour of a leather strap and deployant buckle but did not use the watch after that so you have the benefit of the accessory that offers two distinct looks from one watch.

The Pasha is one of the first sports model by Cartier & legend has it that his excellency El Haj T’hami el Mezouari el Glaoui, Pasha of Marrakech wanted a watch to see time while he swims & being very well connected with the French high society so he commissioned Louis Cartier for one in the 1930s but it was not until 1943 when a prototype was shown to the public. It was made in 18 carat gold with a grille to protect the glass & like the military watches during the war, it had a "canteen crown" that screws lock onto the case to withstand moisture & dust. The size was a generous 41mm which was huge in those days. The movement was a manual winding Calibre 437 developed in 1939 & supplied by Jaeger leCoultre.
