This Tank Must de Cartier Vermeil was first introduced in 1977 and has since been an integral part of Cartier's collection, offering an affordable entry level watch to attract new Cartier clients. The case is made of solid 925 Silver and plated to 20 microns gold hence it is named Vermeil (pronounced as Ver-mail) otherwise known as silver gilt.

This is a larger mid-size version with the desirable hand-winding mechanical movement and production ceased in the late 1990s, making it a collector's item today.

The gold plated case is in good condition with general surface wear and not polished. This watch is fitted with a rare mystery black dial. Glass has a tiny scratch line near 9 o'clock but otherwise nothing major.

It is simple to maintain and will accompany you for decades bearing in mind that these are not water-resistant watches. This remains an affordable entry to the fascinating world of Cartier luxury and the Tank is enjoying a rennaisance recently with the renewed interest among international dealers and collectors. A current Tank Santos Dumont in Platinum is selling for S$60K.

It takes about 13 winds on the crown to full power reserve. The fitted strap was new but has been stretched by customers trying it out. This watch was left in our vault and forgotten and only discovered recently. The watch was stripped, cleaned and movement overhauled so it will be good for many years to come but this watch is not water resistant so please keep it away from moisture.

The current model in steel retails for S$4200 but in quartz and there's no mechanical movement for this except for vintage pieces like what we are offering here.
