This is a stunning example of a solid gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Chronometer Date from the mid 1970s. This particular example was sold in the North American market with the 14ct rather than the usual 18ct Gold. The 3pc solid gold Oyster case was Swiss made, properly stamped and hallmarked while the riveted Oyster bracelet was made in America by C&I then stamped Rolex USA due to import tariffs.

It has a rare matt white dial matched with a set of black hands & blued steel sweep center seconds that contrasts with the dial and makes reading time very convenient.

The case numbers date it to 1974 while there's a year stamp 76 (1976) on the buckle of the bracelet which confirms the heritage. This watch does not have a quick-set date but has hack-seconds. The movement has just received a complete overhaul by our master watchmaker so it is well lubed to last many years to come.

Quality vintage watches like this are increasingly difficult to acquire now and this will make a wonderful birth year watch. A collector's item that's very well priced, in pristine condition & a long bracelet that can be sized for a smaller wrist.
