This charming vintage Omega Seamaster automatic with small seconds is a single family's watch. This watch is the quintessential Seamaster model with the flat bezel+thick lugs and the subject of the re-edition from the original 1948 Seamaster by Omega.

The watch has just received a careful restoration where the watch was completely stripped. The heavy gold filled case was carefully polished, movement overhauled, a new crown & crystal replaced. The gold indices and hands were hand polished to bring out the shine again.

The watch had a rough life when we acquired it. The gold case had so much micro abrasions that it turned matt, dirt filled the crevices, crystal cracked and crown worn out. But otherwise, the watch was unmolested and the restoration reveals a very beautiful watch as seen here. The pink gold gilt movement is now fresh and sparkles. There are no corrosion nor brassing to the edges of the gold filled case except some mild uneven surface visible on the back cover & light old marks around the case but nothing major as seen. It is now resplendent with a new strap fitted and ready for a new home.

The original silvered dial remains in near mint condition except mild blemishes & is very good for it's age as seen. This watch is almost seventy years old!

This is an export model for the US market hence the movement was stamped with OXG export code and the case was made by L&K, the official US case maker for Omega and all properly stamped, signed & completely original.

Overall, this is a very good vintage with clean provenance and largely unmolested example looking for a a new owner. If you're after a vintage Omega Seamaster to start your collecting journey then this is the one and very affordable. The restoration job alone adds almost S$1000 value to this watch and most sellers will not go this extra mile.
