This exceptional pocket watch by IWC dates back to over a century ago and presents in near mint condition. It was made during the golden age of 1920s just after WWI and is fitted with a frosted gold gilt movement, showing finger bridges and jewelled to the center. The solid silver case is embellished with this amazing Niello pattern to replicate crocodile leather and is entirely hand made.

It has triple hinged covers sandwiching the mid-case with the hunting cover, back cover & inner dust-cover folding up like a clamshell. The "Probus Scafusia IWC", an IWC factory hallmark is stamped on the inside of the covers and main plated of the movement.

It takes about twelve winds on the crown to be fully wound.

All covers close tightly and opens well with the front cover popping open upon pressing the small button on the crown. The sparkling deep blued steel hands are finely crafted and contrast very well from the matt gold dial and you can feel the quality of this watch the moment you handle it.

Niello is a metalwork with this craft tracing back over three thousand years ago to bronze age. IWC has also produced many watch cases in gun metal since 19th century and they would continue to be the leader in using exotics materials such as ceramic and titanium cases for their watches till date.
