This is the original independent watch maker Alain Silberstein brand under the French designer's company. The watches were made in France with Swiss movements and sold throughout a global network but the company closed down abruptly around 2010 and has since made a come back again.

This Pavé Smile Day is one of the most unusual and innovative watch from the original company and features a steel case wrapped by alligator leather in a vermillion red no less and matching strap. The face above the date changes daily from sad to smiley in a series of seven faces, making this an evocative watch that accompanies you daily and a great conversation timepiece with friends. There is nothing else like this out there.

Watch is factory sealed & a numbered limited edition of 250pcs.

This is possibly the only set in the world in this condition now. It will appeal to collectors looking for alternative brands and a nonconformist trendsetter.

The French man was an architect turned designer who brought us these funky watches from as early as 1987 and he was one of the first watch maker to introduce sapphire cases, anodized and black rubber cased bodies long before they became popular. The innovative watches in Bauhaus style primary colours and geometric shapes became an instant icon and a hit from Japan to Germany throughout the Nineties and early 2000s. We are one of the first reseller in Singapore and sold his watches from 1998 before the official dealers even brought them here. We have kept some in our private collection and this is one of the few that we're releasing for sale now.

Here's a 2022 interview with the man, what he has done and another 2021 article by Hodinkee. Alain has since done collaborations from MB&F to Bell & Ross, Louis Erard and now Yema. All watches and clocks were limited editions and snatched up by collectors.
