This Tissot 1935 Chrono Janeiro Chronograph is a numbered limited edition of just 3333pcs made in the style of 1930s chronograph with a flat bezel case similar to Patek's Calatrava. It is a re-edition of an original 1935 design developed with Omega for the Brazilian market. Hence, the Janeiro name and the Tissot signature is from the vintage font.

Watch is delivered in the original wooden box with a dark burlwood top that's made in Italy. The interior has deteriorated and all documents are present such as the manual, LE cert, COSC cert and warranty card. On top of these, the original purchase receipt for CHF1290 is included from Christ Orologi E Gioielli in Lugano with their name card too! The only missing thing is the cardboard outer box that's inconsequential.

The watch has never been polished and shows very mild surface wear. The only flaw is a dent on the edge of the bezel @ 10 o'clock but adds to the character and we left it alone. This can be polished away with no cost to you upon request.

Tissot is closely related to Omega since their merger in 1930 under SSIH (Société Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogère) which was joined by Lemania and Ludrin & Co by 1932. This alliance would become SMH and Swatch Group.

Strap measurements are 20mm x buckle 16mm. You may match this watch with a suede leather strap to a beads-of-rice bracelet to further enhance it's heritage good looks.

This is a rare watch and we only ever sold one more than a decade ago. Today, the flat bezel Calatrava style chronograph design is highly sought after by collectors and this represents a tremendous value for money with it's strong heritage and limited numbers. A vintage chronograph of this style by Longines could fetch over US$50K.

Tissot put in a lot of effort into making this model and even had the movement adjusted for chronometer standard that's certified by COSC. Watch will be fully serviced by our workshop before handover.
