About This Watch

Vintage. Comes with orig. boxes but no paper. This is a very rare Rolex Datejust & is also stated in J. Dowling's book as well. We've sold several white gold Daydates from the same era but have only seen two & bought two of this. The first was sold to our Thai client several years ago untill I saw this recently which came from Japan. The original condition of this watch is very good & only required a light polishing but there is a tiny dent on the backcover which was probably caused by the bracelet pressing onto the back many years ago. The dent has since been improved by my polisher & not quite visible now. We do not have the bracelet for this watch & it is not delivered with one. Otherwise, the dial is in absolutely mint condition. It is a non-tritium dial & the batons are not straight but is pyramid with 4 facets & reflects light when you move the watch! The White gold hands are non-tritium which is matching for the dial & gold watches do not have tritium, unlike regular Datejusts. The hands are Dauphine shaped from the 1960s period & shows some micro belmishes. The signed screw-lock Rolex crown is a White gold version with two dots instead of the usual stroke under the crown & this is very rare as well as most were swapped for steel ones over the years.

This is a very rare Rolex & highly collectible. It is even rarer to find one in such a beautiful condition. You can find many vintage Explorers, red word diver's watches & Daytonas but if you are to search for a White Gold Datejust, you probably won't find one for years.
