Vintage. Comes with a period green leather lined Rolex wooden box but no papers. Watch is accompanied by invoices for maintenance in 2011 & 2016. This is a highly collectible Rolex sports model from the 1970s, the Ref.1665 Sea Dweller nicknamed "Great White" is a specialist watch conceived with Comex for their professional divers and it features a helium gas escape-valve on the case that releases pressure built up in the watch while the divers go through the de-compression chamber. This model was rated to 610m or 2000ft which is an amazing achievement 40yrs ago & still very respectable today.

This a matching nos Rolex that has been authenticated via the Rolex Service Centre in Singapore using the Geneva HQ's database. This is a very important exercise as many vintages have been discovered to be Frankensteins & now blacklisted by Rolex.

Over the last two decades, these watches have increased in value tremendously and many were modified then passed on to unsuspecting collectors. Some pieces were even rebuilt by Rolex service centres in the past but are now being rejected and those will never be accepted by Rolex again which is a nightmare for your investment but our specimen here has a clean title.

The case is in very good condition with thick lugs & not over polished while the original bracelet is tight with 11 links. The back cover is in excellent condition and there are no major marks throughout the watch. The dial is in very good condition with a lovely ivory tinted tritium and matching hands as well, making it very desirable.

The serial numbers on this watch dates it to the 2nd quarter of 1980, which makes it one of the last few watches to be made before production ceased. By 1978, The "new" Ref.16660 Sea Dweller was upgraded with a sapphire glass & quick-set date was introduced with the new Calibre 3035 movement. Our watch here is fitted with a very rare Mark 3 dial that was sold in small numbers and sent to the retailers along with the new version then.

This Sea Dweller was returned to Bucherer (famous Swiss Rolex dealer), Zurich for a complete overhaul costing CHF830 in Oct 2011 & the invoice is given. It has recently undergone another full service+polish by the Rolex Center in Singapore for S$1941.80 in April 2016 & is under warranty for Two-years from date. This is a good cash value of nearly S$2K invested on the watch to ensure longevity.
