Vintage. Comes with a vintage Rolex box but no papers.

T Eaton Co Ltd was once the largest department chain store in Canada and they would order Rolex watches to reward their staffs upon their 25yrs service with the company. The watches were always in 14ct yellow gold (North American market), dials were specially commissioned with 1/4 century, replacing the regular nos and full details including the employee's name engraved on the back cover. This watch was given to Mr Lawrence R. Hopper in 1953. The Rolex is an Oyster model bearing Ref.6022 and has the SuperOyster crown which Rolex introduced in early 1950s to do away with screw-locking for water resistance and relied on gaskets. It was not successful and they returned to the screw-lock crowns in 1954 so this watch was one of the last year to be fitted with a Super-oyster crown.

These 1/4 century Eaton Rolexes have become collector's items on their own and remains sought after. It is one of the most decorative Rolex commission works by any company in history and the firm has since stopped collaborating such projects with 3rd party for a few decades.

This watch is generally in very good condition throughout and the gold case will never rust. It is stamped and hallmarked throughout. The movement shines as new which is really a delight. The dial has been professionally refurbished and presents as new.
