This is a rare and very collectible chronograph by IWC and we have not seen one for over five years. It is a single owner's watch from new and comes complete except manual.

The Portuguese Split-seconds Chronograph Ref.3712 has a rich history that has surfaced in the limelight recently with the Phillips auction house where the original prototype attributed to Richard Habring was sold for a princely sum of CHF119,700 = S$176,000.00 and details available here.

This 3712 (Not to be confused with the Patek's Nautilus 3712) has a manual winding movement with the automatic winding system and rotor removed so the case is slimmer and weighs lesser than the sibling 3714 which is still in production today. As a result, this 3712 caters to a collector of astute taste, preferring the intimate experience of hand winding the main spring and the split-seconds chronograph function to time multiple events simultaneously not because we need it but because we can. The slimmer case fits seamlessly under the cuffs but this watch will be equally at ease on a weekend.

Our watch here has a good history of maintenance by IWC with a service record in 2004 but never used since by the owner and just completed another full works by IWC with a cash value of S$1495 so this watch is in virtually fresh condition with another $450 grey alligator strap fitted. It is sold with a two years international IWC warranty till Aug 2023 so you can have a peace of mind with us.

A rare opportunity not to be missed. This model was last retailing for S$17500 in 2005 by IWC and discontinued after that with no replacement since.

This Ref.3712 bears resemblance to the mightly Rolex Ref.4113 which was last sold for a staggering CHF1.94million so while our IWC will never reach that level, it is something very affordable and wearable as a daily while the accessories and history completes it's desirability.
