About This Watch

Pre-owned. Comes with orig. current version large sized wooden box (+outer box but interior lining peeling as usual), manual & dated paper in pouch.

This is a one owner's watch from new and sparingly used over the years. The watch has never been polished and retains the sharp angular edges so do expect some usual handling fine hairlines on the solid gold case and buckle. Collectors are very fussy now and prefer not to polish watches unless necessary.

The Ref.5489R is a rare modern watch by Patek Philippe with the unusual asymmetrical case and seldom appears for sale.

The Art Deco influenced case measures 28mm at the bottom & taper outwards to 33mm on the widest girth which is a good 5mm difference. It was also a very expensive model back then, costing as much as an automatic Calatrava & selling on the high side of S$20K after a generous discount from your retailers. Hence the rarity on the secondary market. It has been discontinued with a very short production period and was only produced in 18K Pink or white gold.

A collector's item not to be missed.
