A rare and very pretty rectangular watch by Omega. Made in a luscious pink gold capped over steel rectangular case with a steel snap-on back. The form shaped movement is protected by a metal cover for dust and anti-magnetic feature. The original dial has aged to a very pretty, even patina throughout with pink gold Arabic numerals and hands. The plastic crystal is in good condition and back cover snaps tightly. The gold gilt crown is signed and a new non-Omega strap is fitted which you can always change later. Movement shines, winds well and keeps time. The pink gold capped case is in very good condition without wear on the edges except for a tiny ding on the bezel @ 4 o'clock but not an eye sore for a seventy years old watch. Overall, this is a very good quality vintage in complete condition, showing little rust and will accompany you for many decades to come.

A clever design with chamfered bezel that reveals a case shape similar to Patek's revered Pagoda but at a fraction of the latter's value.

1947, WWII had just ended barely for two years and many parts of the world were still reeling from the devastation and rebuilding was in slow progress. This was the beginning of the Cold War, founding of IMF and closer to home, Chung Khiaw Bank was founded by Aw Boon Haw and this Omega was made. She will make a great companion on a fine gentleman or lady's wrist and offers so much quality and value that modern watches struggle to match.
