This charming vintage Omega Constellation chronometer is a one family's watch. We acquired this from the seller who's father purchased it new in the late 60s and it has been with the family since. The watch presents very well when we purchased it and has not been machine polished since new as can be seen from the angular lugs but most importantly, from the factory brushed finish on the back cover.

We embarked on a light restoration that took over few months. The watch was disassembled, movement serviced, back cover gasket replaced, strap changed and the gold shell case plus original acrylic were polished by hand. Any visible rust remnants were removed, chemical cleaned and oiled to prevent rust.

This watch was left in a drawer in the past decade. The original dial is in near mint condition except for micro blemishes spread evenly across but not visible to the naked eyes as and the YG markers plus hands are shiny and sparkles. The case has some light dings and marks but nothing serious. This is an earlier Constellation and does not have a quick-set date. The acrylic crystal is an original and has the Omega logo engraved in the center that's visible with a loupe. The movement shines like a mirror and free from any oxide or rust which is fantastic.

Overall, this is a very good vintage with clean provenance and largely unmolested example looking for a good home. The fitted vintage gold filled buckle alone is worth couple of hundred bucks and is an original which is different from those cheap reproductions sold on Ebay.
