This is probably the most desirable Mickey Mouse watch by Gérald Genta. Conceived for the first Formula One™ Grand Prix night race in Singapore for the year 2008 and only 50pcs were made.

This watch has been kept in our vault since. Never worn, rubber strap has never sized, never serviced, watch functions well and sold with Passions warranty or a fresh service upon request. The faux leather on the box is beginning to peel.

A bit of history. This watch was a Sold-out well before the first F1™ was held in late Sept 2008 in Singapore, no discounts were given & the original retail price was S$13800.00. Only regulars of The Hour Glass were notified & due to the low nos, it was natural that this model was a success & sold out. We secured a few after the event and sold them with a discount @ the loss of the owners then but this was post-2008 during the Sub-prime crisis and market has recovered since and an unprecedented recovery again in the last 12 months.

During that 2008 F1™, Singapore's watch retailers celebrated this event by collaborating with several other watch makers and produced limited edition watches from AP, Tag Heuer to U-Boat.

The grey-black dial of this watch features a silver carbon fibre center with chequered pattern to represent the racing flag and Mickey wearing a red/white (National colours of Singapore) racing suit while a red Lion Head, symbol of Singapore is placed on top of the dial. The solid steel back cover is engraved with Mickey Racing Singapore with an image of an F1™ race car then signed by ©Disney. There were no individual nos and all engraved as 1 of 50. Formula 1™ was not involved due to complex Intellectual Property rights and it is unlikely that another such project will be done again. A very meaningful watch for Singaporean collectors and racing fans.

Today, Gérald Genta Disney character watches are prized items by collectors and in particularly, Mickey Mouse although there were several others including Uncle Scrooge. The latest Mickey limited to 150pcs by Bulgari was a sell-out and trading for over S$50K now.
