Vintage. No box/papers. This lovely Longines in 9K cushion case was made for the British market with UK hallmarks. The enamelled dial in white is in perfect condition with no hairlines or chips. Crown is a modern replacement & they were never signed in those days. Case is in very good condition with only micro hairline abrasions with no dents or deep scratches & a good light polish will bring out it's lustre. The movement is in oirginal frosted brass finish & in excellent condition.

This is a highly collectible timepiece from the 1st quarter of last century & finding good examples like this are becoming very very difficult these days.

Due to import taxes of gold & trade protection, many Swiss watchmakers employed local casemakers to produce cases for their brands to be sold there without incurring heavy import duties. Movements were exported there in part or whole then assembled locally & they were not taxed as a complete watch & thus remain competitive in pricing. The case for this watch was made by A L Dennison & stamped "ALD". This company also manufactures case for Rolex & several other brands in those days.
