This Vacheron Constantin les Historiques Jalousie, Jadorie Shutter watch is a very rare timepiece that appears only once every few years here. Produced in very small numbers in the late 1990s and remains a unicorn among the plethora of rectangular watches. This is a very desirable collector's timepiece and certainly a conversation among watch geeks when tank watches are very much in vogue again.

This watch has been examined by us and sent to the VC boutique for inspection where the details were forwarded to factory. According to the Extract from the Archives issued by VC, this watch was manufactured in 1997 and sale would've been later.

Watch is in very good condition as seen and appears to be probably lightly polished once and never abused, as the case remains in crisp condition with the filigree on case band still highly visible and angular edges.

The Jadorie shutter has it's origin dating to 1930s from the Montre à Volets (watch with flaps) model together with a Parisian jeweller Verger Frères. It was based on a 1930 patented design by Gustave-Aubert Verger that was inspired by Venetian blinds and doubles up as a protection for the fragile glass of the watch. These vintages come up to the market occasionally and are fascinating watches for collectors.
