This Ref.5448 is a hommage to the original model Ref.5251 from 1984 that featured the same 46mm case with thin bezel, resulting in a large pocket-watch display dial that also shows the moonphases.

A collection of six steel watches were launched in 2008 to celebrate the 140th Anniversary of the IWC Company and a Portofino Moonphase was one of those. This is the rarest in Platinum with a silvered dial and just 500 numbered pieces made.

The moon phase display on this watch is so accurate that it only deviates by one day in 122 years from progress. It is fitted with the pocket watch derived Calibre 98800 movement with an oversized regulator.

Watch is in splendid condition with a perfect glass (Blue anti-glared coating) and the polished platinum case is free from any dents or visible scratches to the naked eyes. The original strap is used but presents very well.
