About This Watch

Pre-owned. Comes with orig. wooden boxes, manual & dated paper. Watch was purchased brand new from an authorised dealer in 2006. The Chronomètre Souverain was conceived entirely in-house & first presented by F.P. Journe in the Spring of 2005. The master watchmaker wanted a simple and pure wristwatch with a return to the roots of watchmaking so this was created. It immediately went on to win the Favourite men's watch in the 2005 Grand Prix d'Horologerie de Genève, the Oscars of watch making world.

The movement was inspired by 18th century French Marine Chronometers with twin mainspring barrels giving a precise and constant force distributed by the solid 18K pink gold wheels unwinding under the solid gold bridges. This is the larger & more popular case of the then available two sizes with the smaller version at 38mm. The slim case and thin bezel exhibits a large dial which projects a larger-than-life size presence so this watch looks absolutely gorgeous even if you are a big watch fan or someone who wants a discreet timepiece will find this very seductive. The owner paid S$38K for this after discount and used pieces are still trading for S$39K+/- globally but ours is significantly lesser by a few thousands.

It is in mint condition with just micro fine hairlines from handling and never polish. The original strap seems to have only been used for just a few times very carefully and appears to be fresh as new. The watch takes about 36 turns of the crown for a full wind.
