This is a one owner's watch purchased new in 2006 from a Singapore retailer. This Cartier Santos 100 was a dream watch for the current owner but he has a new hobby now & has no use for the watch so it's put up for sale. It has just been polished to factory specs and is good as new now with a beautiful profile and no difference from new. The original black alligator strap has seen light use and will serve you well. The glass & blue spinel on the crown are in perfect condition with no chips or scratches.

The Cartier Santos Dumont collection is named after the father of aviation, a Brazilian Alberto S. Dumont who lived in France from 1891 to 1928. He was an aviator pioneer having designed and made several airships and planes that he flew personally which achieved world records and gained him great fame. However, it was difficult for him to read time from pocket watches while piloting so he asked his friend, Louis Cartier (Founder of Cartier) for a wristwatch to be worn and the Santos watch was born in 1904. It would accompany Alberto throughout his flights. This Cartier Santos 100 was launched in 2004 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Santos watch and has remained as one of the most popular model in the Cartier watch collection.

The Santos watch was the first commercially available wristwatch and has since been named after the aviator.
