A very beautiful solid gold watch by Tiffany & Co of New York made by International Watch Co, IWC of Switzerland. This watch has a presentation engraving on the back bearing "SW FLETCHER FROM J.O. ROSS ENGINEERING CORP 1923-1948" which makes this a 25yrs long service award.

This watch was fitted with a very high quality movement by IWC & the calibre 62 was exquisitely finished to the highest standard of it's time. The silvered dial is in excellent condition bearing a few old marks and has appliqué gold Arabic numerals on the quarters and pyramid indexes that adds to a touch of luxury. The square case has a very attractive concave bezel and adorned with down-turned lugs with flared tips.

Overall condition is very good and ready to wear bearing in mind never to expose this watch to water nor dropping it as there's no shock-resisting protection on the balance but you shouldn't be dropping your watches. The original dial shows some patina and few tiny spots that difficult to see with naked eyes. The movement shines and case has little wear. The very thick acrylic crystal shows numerous tiny chips on the edges but doesn't affect the value nor cause any wear to the internals.

J.O. Ross Engineering Corp.'s history is connected to Parish & Bingham Co., a company founded in Cleveland in 1894 to produce bicycle, wagon, and trolley parts. In March 1923, Elroy Kulas merged Parish & Bingham, the Detroit Pressed Steel Co., and the Parish Mfg. Co. to create Midland Steel Prods. Co. This new company went on to become the largest producer of automobile frames, and five years later, a brake division was established. During World War II, Midland manufactured jeep and truck frames and parts for shells and tanks.
