This is a very attractive jumbo size chronograph dating to late 1930s and early 40s. The 18KPG case shows light polishing done and some factory lines remain. It has 3 marks on the case band @ 10 o'clock & some light dents on the back cover but otherwise the case presents very well. The square pushers and crown are all matching pink gold and appears to be original which is important as most of these crowns were replaced over the decades and are never in pink gold.

Now the crucial part, the original black lacquered dial with pink gold gilt markings is in near mint condition and matching pink gold stick hands plus registers. It is further accentuated with beautiful Art Deco style font, Arabic numerals for the hours and has both Telemetre and Tachymetre scales. The watch appears to be very well preserved over decades and rates far above the average pieces you'll find in the market and certainly not with this dial. Bear in mind that most black dials of this era are re-conditioned while this is an original and near mint condition. The ANTIMAGNÈTIQUE (French) has the vowel sign on the E which is an incredibly fine detail that cannot be replicated and can be observed under a loupe.

It takes about 17 winds on the crown to full reserve & movement beats strong. The chronograph resets flawlessly, movement shines and keeping time very well.

The Landeron Cal.48 movement was an improvement over the 48 which was in production from 1937 to 1970 and has a Cam-switching control vs column wheel. The 2 o'clock button simply starts the stopwatch while the 4 o'clock button stops and resets to zero.

A very attractive and large 18KPG chronograph that's over 80 years old with a most attractive dial. It will be very difficult to find another in this condition. Probably one in thousands chance.
