About This Watch

Collectible early 20th century pocket watch. This is an interesting pocket watch made by Baume (Baume & Mercier) & Longines in the early 20th century. We have seen some early wrist/pocket watches bearing these two watchmakers' names as well. This is a large, water/dust resistant cased, open face pocket watch with a simple & bold dial for easy reading. Such watches were usually made for the railway companies, naval or military use which required simple, robust & functional watches. Case has general surface wear but has a mark on the edge of the backcover probably caused by someone using a tool to knock open the case in the past but nothing serious & cover screws smoothly. The enamel dial has some hairlines but hardly visible. Interesting example with double names.
