We're delighted to offer this watch again as the owner who acquired this Patek 2 yrs ago is now posted on a long overseas assignment and he does not want to leave the watches unattended. So this is among some of his watches given to us for sale.

This is a very rare opportunity to purchase one of the rarest modern day Patek Philippe Calatrava, the Ref.3718 created in Steel to celebrate the watchmaker's 150th anniversary and reputed that only 500pcs were made for the Japanese market.

Any astute Patek Philippe collector will know that their steel cased watches are most desirable vs precious metals due to low production figures and only selected models were made with steel cases. At 33mm, this was the regular size of that era as there were no large Pateks but should this be a 36mm or larger, this watch will easily fetch three times the value today. The Singapore edition Aquanaut is being sold for half a million dollars now while the Tiffany Blue Nautilus going around for a mind boggling S$5million. Our watch here looks like a steal.

The sigma dial is described as Fond Glacé Ivoire which means glazed ivory background and is a specially made dial similar but not the same as enamelling. This glazed dial has a layer of baked glaze over an ivory base which creates a  glass-like surface which is both mystical and desirable. A timeless classic.

The case is in fabulous condition with light wear while the sapphire crystal & dial are perfect and any flaw can only be picked up with a 10x loupe. The only thing that needs replacement is the original strap but otherwise watch works as it should and this movement is simple to maintain.
